I throw myself into stuff all the time. It can be anything from the start of a swim season, a new school year, the election, a vacation, an exercise routine etc. I'm kind of in a phase where I really don't know what my focus should be. I turned on the television and honestly, I have no idea what is on this fall season ... NO IDEA AT ALL. If I watched television in the past few months, it was something kid related or Fox News.
I NEED A NEW FOCUS.
My current thoughts ...
- reading a fictional, just for fun book
- stepping up my exercise routine
- thinking about our Christmas wish lists and shopping
- baking more ... I really am slacking in this area
- ways to save money so that we can get a new (second) washer and dryer for the upstairs (not a fancy kind because this would mostly be used by my oldest two children)... I actually have hookups.
I wonder if a lot of people go through a sort of "lull" period this time of the year. Surely it doesn't last long with the start of the holidays coming upon us.
Don't get me wrong, I am also not bored by any means. We are busy, busy all the time. For some crazy reason we decided to add drama (outside the home) and basketball to our schedule. This certainly makes for some careful planning when I look at my planned out days. Thank goodness gas is 1/2 the cost of what it was just a few short months ago. TODAY I PAID $1.82/gallon ... WOO HOO!
My biggest issue is that I am not feeling "oh so creative". I love my children, but some days I just feel they are sucking out all the good ideas and replacing them with crazy multi-tasking thoughts.
(((((SIGH)))))
Tonight I leave you with a picture that I stumbled upon in my library of 14, 000+ photos. It may be one of my all time favorite photos snapped by "MOI" almost 4 years back. After viewing it (way back when), I somehow had this crazy thought that maybe I have a knack for picture taking. Here 'ya go ...

*Two dirty, messy looking friends. I just loved their eyes and hands.

It's funny that while I was reading about your feelings of "creativity" loss, I was thinking but wait...she is a great photographer.
Oh my gosh.
There has to be a title for this.
I think it's excellent.
Oh, and you'll love a second washer/dryer. We put one in our master closet in this house and it's been so nice.
I too LOVE the eyes and hands. This picture SPEAKS very clearly in a lovely voice.
That's art.
:)
When it said friends it brought me back to a picture of me and my friend who was a year older. When played and as we got older got busy with our lives. However, she died in a car accident when she was 19. I still have that picture of us.....two sweet innocent little girls.
This time of year is a great time to start a new book, I love curling up with a comfy blanket, a cup of tea and a good book.
I think many of us are in a kind of lull, or maybe it's a holding pattern...?
happy fall!
