Not too different looking ...

Of course this is a little hard to see, but I really think the biggest difference with my face is really my PROFILE (which you can't see in these photos). I never really looked at myself before and thought I was ugly ... I just was really disappointed in my teeth and my smile. It seemed that as I got older, it was aging me more than I was comfortable with. Of course my reasons for doing all this was more to treat my TMJ and increasing issues with misaligned teeth ... cavities. I'm sure when these braces come off I will really have a lot to smile about. Really I am the very same person inside ... maybe just a little happier.

Today I move up to STAGE 2 BABY FOODS

LOL!  I'm just kidding.  Really, I am not eating baby food, but it isn't too far off.  I've been pureeing any soup that I make in my Magic Bullet to a relatively smooth consistency. Later today I have an appointment with my oral surgeon who will give me the go ahead to eat bananas, eggs (although I have cheated and eaten these in the last week) and maybe some mushy pasta.  Sounds mouth watering, eh? After 2 weeks of this stuff, I should be able to add some chewier foods.  By week 8 I can eat what I want to and what I can actually chew. Here's what I can't wait to eat ... crunchy, sweet, juicy, chewy stuff. YUM!

SHOCKING ... oh my!

I was just doing a little search for my 3rd grader.  She just read an American Girl book and I told her that if she did a good job writing a little report that I would take her on a special one on one date.  I'm just a little desperate to get her to read (blush). I wanted to find a simple way to help her format her writing (I ended up using my Write Source book) . Well, after googling I found this site   on writing and could not believe it. Am I reading this right ... is this a paid service to have someone write a paper for you?  I know that students have been doing this for a while, but I never saw an advertised site ... yikes! IT makes me wonder how many super smarty pants folks are really all that smart?  Hopefully I am wrong. Hmmmmmm ...

I was a mommy living in California with 2 small children.  My days were mostly quiet, but busy taking care of my girls.  We played in the house, went for walks, had park play dates, went to the store, and did some cleaning.  Occasionally I would get together with a MOMS group ... taking turns at different homes.  My brother and SIL (at the time) lived there and we would gather at each other's homes for meals. What I didn't do 10 years ago ... check email internet search and shop participate in a mommy board google blog facebook There are days TODAY that I feel like my time on this computer is way too much.  I realize that many other moms (and dads) feel like this too.  However, I do know one thing and that is, I feel less alone .  No, I don't really know all the people who respond on my blog and there is a great chance that I will never meet many of the "friends" that I have found on the computer.   At the end of the day, I don't feel quite as sad when I find...

Wordless Wednesday ...

To make your own ... Rosary Army

We had a lovely weekend ...

It's nice to have a weekend when not a whole lot is scheduled. There were no swim meets or basketball games (that part is over for us). I also didn't have to teach Sunday school (off for Spring Break). We spent some time ... ORGANIZING the house downstairs (too many piles of paperwork) rummaging through the attic to determine that we desperately need to have a garage sale (that will happen sometime in APRIL) Tutor time for {m} cleanup of the bedrooms Church on Saturday evening Dinner at Panera on Sat. night (of course I ate the soup) Movie watching at home(I think I saw a record of 4 movies this weekend) Visit to the Daffodil Festival (that meant picture time) OVERALL ... a really nice weekend with some beautiful weather. *You can click on the pictures to see them BIGGER ;)
