The other day I was driving down a road on my not so usual path of getting the little one from preschool. I saw a few little boys just getting off the school bus and running home by themselves. They were little kids ... probably 5-7 years old. My first thought as they ran home to their apartment, was "wow, they are really young to be going home alone ... unattended" . Then I thought of how it was when I was younger. Back then it was seemingly safe to kiss children goodbye and let them walk to and from school (or take the bus). Are times really all that different? My girls do not live within walking distance of the school they attend. My day starts off by getting the 7 and 9 year old on the school bus by 6:50 A.M. They are lucky enough to stand in my garage until they hear the sound of the bus and then they get to run onto it at the end of my driveway. After they head to school, I leave within 25-35 minutes and take the high schooler to her school and then the presc...

and the only one MALE who walks on two feet in my house ;) I met him when I was 16 ... he is now 39. He still makes me smile. He makes my heart go pitter patter. He's funny. He's caring. He gives to me more than I could ever come close to deserving. I would keep going to give you 39 reasons why I love this man so, but that may seem silly. OH, what the heck, I'll do it anyway! 34 more reasons why I love this man ... (and in no particular order) He's super smart ... big brains are very sexy. He no longer has hair, but he lost it all in a very good way ... no weird missing patches. Plus he has a nice round head. BALD is BEAUTIFUL ;) He gives GREAT hugs. He calls me and texts me to check on me ... I love that he still thinks about me all the time. Family is first to him. It was clear from the beginning and that belief is not waning. FIRST, I would just like to remind those EDUCATORS out there that THIS IS THE TIME to go to BARNES & NOBLE for their 25% discount  ... January 16-24th. Then I would highly recommend that if you have ANY children who still love to be read to ... GET THIS BOOK ! I'm only a few chapters into this book, but the 4 and 7 year old  ... as well as myself, have been laughing out loud (LOL)! I love that the main character in it is a bit of a trouble maker, but not in a mean spirited way.  She pays attention to a lot of different things ... just not the "important" stuff.  Her name is Clementine and she likes to call her brother Spinach or Broccoli.  She just doesn't think it is fair that her parents named her a fruit and  her brother a so called "normal" name.  The only thing worse than a fruit name is a vegetable name ... hence the names she prefers to refer to her brother as.
