SMMMMMMMFFFFFFFFFFF ...

Not sure if that is the sound of sniffing, but GOSH ... I LOVE NEW SNEAKERS. Where I live, they would be called tennis shoes. SILLY PEOPLE ... they are running sneakers. After 3 weeks of consistant running (4x a week), I now can do 3 miles without a lot of effort. Usually I stop because I have time constraints (indoor running on a treadmill at the gym with 2 children in childcare and 3 at swimteam practice). This may be bragging, but I really don't care ... so sorry ! I am putting forth the effort which is so darn gratifying! Today I stopped in at our New Balance store and purchased my first pair of spendy running sneakers. The people there measured my foot properly ( a 1/2 size larger than I thought) and watched me walk/run to see how I perform (inner foot pressure). They then fitted me with the proper sneaker ... so I hope. Tomorrow I will go for my first big outdoor run. I have never purchased a spendy sneaker, but at the same time that is soooooooo motivating. I cannot let th...

This SITEMETER thing can be a little FREAKY

I mention this because I wonder if it is better to NOT know how many people view your blog and for how long. Case in point ... Today I opened up a link to a lovely homeschooling mommy's blog, and NEVER closed it. I am fairly sure that it appears that I was viewing her blog for 12 hours. I do have more to do in life than just read blogs. They are fun, but please note that sometimes I leave my computer without closing a link. Life is interrupted quite frequently in this house. Really, I am not a weirdo ...

What AGE do I ACT?????

You Are 34 Years Old Under 12: You are a kid at heart. You still have an optimistic life view - and you look at the world with awe. 13-19: You are a teenager at heart. You question authority and are still trying to find your place in this world. 20-29: You are a twentysomething at heart. You feel excited about what's to come... love, work, and new experiences. 30-39: You are a thirtysomething at heart. You've had a taste of success and true love, but you want more! 40+: You are a mature adult. You've been through most of the ups and downs of life already. Now you get to sit back and relax. What Age Do You Act? LOL! I was hoping that I would be A LOT younger (most of the time I feel that way), but alas I am oh so very close to my actual age. AT least I am still younger ;) HT to Elizabeth

Hearing bits and pieces ...

In my family it is quite the norm for me to NOT see the movies that my girls see (this was not always the case). It seems in recent years (as life got super busy and I kept having babies), my husband would always be the MOVIE DAD. He loves going to the theatre and my girls from a very young age were always really good to sit for long stints of time. I actually think it is kind of neat that they will someday look back and remember the fond times of going with DAD to the movies. Anywhooooooooooo ... I digress as I often do. Today was no different as I sat in the car listening to Finding Nemo while it played on my car's DVD. I just loved this quote by Dory ... Well, you can`t never let anything happen to him. Then nothing would ever happen ... How profound ;) I also caught a comment by my 7 year old. Early on, Coral (Nemo's mother) said "I can't believe we're gonna be parents!". Immediately after that, my {m} said "that's silly, they are ALREADY par...

Busy, BUSY week ...

I shouldn't even be on the computer, but I figured that while I shovel down my egg sandwich that I just made ... might as well sit and read and write a little. WE are heavy into our activities right now. Trying to keep up with everyone's schedules, business trips, meetings, practices, classes, and appointments is very tricky right now. I hope I don't crash ... I am having a little guilt right now about not making homeschooling FUN . We are busy, getting lots done, but my husband joked with me last night about how I am going through all the motions of school, but we need to do other "fun" stuff or else I could be done teaching their current grade by February. Coming up with ideas might be hard for me. I want things to sort of go along with what we are doing in our own home, but where I live might prove to be a little bit of an obstacle. You really have to look HARD to find field trips here. Maybe I am not giving where I live enough credit, but having once li...
