Google the name of my blog and I get ...

THIS FIRST ... which is kind of funny.  I can't seem to escape the whole TEETH thing - LOL! and then ... the lyrics to Harry Connick Jr's song and then ... a producer who made a movie called   A Wink and a Smile ( 2008 Seattle International Film Festival) ... this doesn't appear to be "my style" ;) and then ... ME here at A Wink and a Smile which has been the name of my blog since June 2006 when I started blogging. What show's up when you google the name of your blog?  Maybe you have a much more original name than I do.

Almost the weekend ...

Of course I started off Monday saying I would be busy ... and I have .  I really need a good weather weekend with my husband to get some of our home jobs done.  Right now I have a a huge pile of dirt and rocks sitting on my driveway that need to be properly placed into the backyard.  Rain would greatly interfere with that. This is one of two raised vegetable planters made by my husband and 2nd daughter.  We are hoping to put them into this sunny spot where we seem to have trouble keeping grass (partly a dog issue and partly a water run off issue).  We'll add the dirt and pea gravel to help out with all of that.   This is another eyesore in our house.  The front door is wood/glass and the wood is fading and splintering.  This weekend we are hoping to sand, use some wood putty, paint (dark charcoal), and replace the hardware (and kick plates).  No more brass ... The Monday UPDATE ...

Last week was really quite busy ... Puppy stuff (at least he has started to sleep through the night ... waking at 6am each day) Easter prep Holy week and the various lovely masses (The VIGIL was just beautiful ... always brings tears) Church dinner (I love that my parish is so family oriented and filled with active members) Play practice (thankfully the production is later this week) Swim practice orthodontist (I now have 4 rubberbands in my mouth and hopefully only 6 more months of braces) oral surgeon (everything is healing as it should and I can NOW EAT FOOD ... WOO HOO!) On the schedule this week is lots of ... laundry grocery shopping driving to and fro twine rosary making (I still need to complete some more for my students) lesson planning for Sunday school ... only 2 more weeks until the school year ends birthday party planning (?) for a particular 8 year old about to turn 9 Confirmation prep for my oldest sand, paint, and replace hardware for front door (this weekend) m...
