"A Wink and a Smile"

This is just one of the things that I am selling. Please ignore the pink toe that managed to find its way into this photo (oops) . Have I mentioned that I homeschooled for 3 years? Did you know that I really love to buy curriculum and books? I can't be the only homeschooling mom who has bought books that she never used ... can I? I needed to get off my booty and sell some of this stuff once and for all. Of course I know that eBay is funny in that you have to know what will sell. Sometimes it's just not worth the time and effort to try to unload stuff. It's been a few years since I have tried to sell, but believe me I know from experience that some things just don't hold their value. Hopefully the books that I have listed will put money back in my pocket. The main reason that I want to SELL is that my three oldest girls will be at schools that require me to BUY their curriculum. For each of them that amounts to nearly $300 ... yikes! If I can pay CASH out of w...

My little one ... the 4 year old, loves to go to the bookstore. It never fails that she finds her way to the train table to play and then to those "oh so well written books" (NOT!). It really frustrates me that these type of books are displayed to attract the young ones. I even had to resort to reading a few of these "intelligent" (NOT!) books for girls. This was my daughter's favorite. You gotta love a story with characters named Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie . You just know that something with a great moral with arise from this story (NOT!). THANKFULLY, I am a strong mommy. One that doesn't cave into these books. Sure, I will read them, but we do have a rule that I will NOT BUY THEM! We go to the LIBRARY for that ... 'ya know, the FREE STUFF ;)

Catholic Family Podcast where they interviewed Tarek Saab (check out his multimedia video) and I have to say that I was quite impressed by him. Even though I am not a 20 something male, I may just have to check out his book ... His discussion on the addictions that our American society is facing today was just so "real". It really had me thinking about making some changes within my family. Summer sounds like a good time to take them on!

Sometimes you THINK you need to get back to the "old", but really when something is working well ... WHY change? This is a question that I keep asking myself. I am being rather vague, but this relates to something I have been doing for less than a year. Decisions can be so hard. This still needs a lot more thinking. Tonight I watched American Idol all by myself. Faves for tonight were David Archuleta and David Hernandez. The other David was pretty good too. I was really hoping to be blown away by Michael Johns, but he was just so, so tonight. I do think he will remain safe because he does have that "it" factor ;) My hubby is sick and all the girls went to bed early. Our house has been battling a stomach/fever bug for nearly a month now. It never seems to get terrible, but one day you may feel sick and then next day better, and then sick again ... very weird! I feel GOOD, but I should not speak too loudly. I read a really amazing book that I can't stop thinkin...

I thought I would catolog some of my books onto this site ... http://www.librarything.com/ As I was individually entering some of my books I noticed that I could import them. Apparently they have something set up with VOX (my old blog), so I thought I would try the import thing. Now amongst my lovely Tomie DePaola books, I have an odd assortment of someone else's books that I can't seem to get rid of. Everytime I delete a book, a new one pops up. No, I have not read ... Demon of Love , The Devil's Door , The Cup of Morning Shadow's . AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! I think I have to delete my entire catolog *UPDATE ... my library is fixed. Somehow I think someone else's books were imported. I just couldn't believe the titles.
