Have you ever heard of the saying "Trying to keep up with the Joneses"???????
Well, we are not the Jones family and I'm not so sure we really were trying to keep up with anyone.
Still, we are just like a lot of people who appear to be doing okay, but in reality ... not all that perfect.
We like our toys/gadgets, we have 5 children, we like to eat out, and we sometimes don't think twice when we click the "buy" button on iTunes.
Our cars are not fancy, but then we do not own them. After all these years of marriage, we have yet to be free and clear of car payments.
We have a mortgage (or two) and couple that with big car payments, it's A LOT OF $$$$ out of our pockets and not much going to the savings account.
This years GOAL has GOT TO BE TO ELIMINATE our DEBT. The mortgage won't go away, but we need to revamp and knock off all the other debt.
This means ... coupons, less dining out, bargain shopping, budgeting (BIG TIME), selling off the husband's car, being diligent, drinking less wine ;), and only using CASH or debit for every stinkin' thing.
As a family, we've got to get angry.
We've got to be trend setters.
WE HAVE GOT TO CHANGE!
Besides the Joneses are POOR and probably in more DEBT than anyone.
