8 Things about me and the hubby ... a MEME

I have been tagged by Cris , so here goes ...

1. We started dating when we were both 16 ... a summer romance that has lingered for 20 years (this July 24th).

2. My husband sought me out. I had no idea who he was, but apparently he thought I was cute. OF course I thought the same of him once I met him.

3. We got married in Disney World in May 27, '95, but we married eachother AGAIN Novemer 27th, 2001. The second wedding was in the Catholic Church. We actually had to go to the courts and get a new license. I would even marry my husband a 3rd time ...

4. WE compliment eachother very well. My husband is brilliant, but most of the time I am his memory or his common sense. I may be blonde, but I refuse to play one. I can't even tell you how many times this man has misplaced his wallet, his keys, or his sunglasses.

5. Early on in our marriage, my husband wanted 2 children, I wanted 3, but we got 5. I guess the math adds up ... LOL! Seriously, our life if busy, but filled with lots of love.
I never could predict that I would be mommy to 5 little minnies.

6. If you ever saw the movie "When Harry Met Sally" ... I would be Sally. I admit to liking things the way I like them. My wonderful husband has accepted this about me. What a GUY! Honestly, there are things about my husband that annoy me sometimes, but he really is pretty special. I am blessed to have him in my life.

7. Our lives and marriage are always EVOLVING. WE talk all of the time, and are not afraid to make significant changes for the betterment (is that a word?) of our family. We work really hard at trying to make each other happy. Again, I think my husband does a better job than I do (I will admit to this).

8. WE love a lot of the same things (and in no particular order) ... Disney, vacations, the beach, PHOTOGRAPHY, computers (he is getting me more and more involved), music (we actually like a lot of the same music), family, home improvement, gardening, long bike rides, CHILDREN, a good latte, date nights, and EACHOTHER!

Now I get to tag 8 people ...
Margaret (from Minnesota)

Adding to this are the rules of this meme ...

One: Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.

Two: People who are tagged need to write their own blog entry about their eight things and post these rules.

Three: at the end of your entry, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names/pseudonyms/blogs.

Thank you for the tag, Sweetie! I'm honored!

Much more important, though, than my rocking back on my heels and being honored is the sense of love & unity I got when I read this post.

I loved all eight points, but my very favorites were numbers 3, 5 & 7. Good for you, Elaine! And good for me to keep such things as #7 in mind.

Have a beautiful day!

I love your blog! I found it through Jenny's blog, Home is Where You Start From. Five girls, wow! I have 3 boys but would love to add a girl to the mix someday! :)

The photo of your girls at the beach looking at the waves is absolutely adorable!

Momto5minnies meets the Pioneer Woman!

I read her blog and knew that she was coming into town for her book signing and I thought about going, but I also knew it was the day that I was getting my braces off (MONDAY 11/9). On Sunday night before, my husband made a quick trip to Walmart and brought home a flyer saying how Ree Drummond (The Pioneer Woman) was coming the next day. I'm not sure if my husband was more excited about me getting my braces off the next day or having me MEET THE PIONEER WOMAN. I guess I really did want to go, but now I HAD TO GO! Monday was a crazy day ... jitters in the am 4.6 mile run to make me feel relaxed (it was also my longest run yet) drop the 12 year old at her homeschool art class quick trip to Walmart (to see if there were Pioneer Woman cookbooks ... no luck, but my husband picked me up a few ... I'm gifting some for Christmas). home to throw a pot roast in the crockpot braces removal at 11:30am dentist visit at 1pm usual afterschool chaos of swim team home for a 30 minute rest wa...

A scattered post ...

I throw myself into stuff all the time.  It can be anything from the start of a swim season, a new school year, the election, a vacation, an exercise routine etc.  I'm kind of in a phase where I really don't know what my focus should be.  I turned on the television and honestly, I have no idea what is on this fall season ... NO IDEA AT ALL .  If I watched television in the past few months, it was something kid related or Fox News. I NEED A NEW FOCUS. My current thoughts  ... reading a fictional, just for fun book stepping up my exercise routine thinking about our Christmas wish lists and shopping baking more ... I really am slacking in this area ways to save money so that we can get a new (second) washer and dryer for the upstairs (not a fancy kind because this would mostly be used by my oldest two children)... I actually have hookups. I wonder if a lot of people go through a sort of "lull" period this time of the year.  Surely it doesn't last long with the start ...

Not a lot has changed ...

As a puppy he always liked a warm spot. We call Comet our "close talker" (from Seinfeld) because he is in your face and always a little too close for our comfort level. The girls don't seem to mind, but it can be a little annoying for my husband and I. Really, he is a fabulous dog. He listens well and is so gentle with everyone. *We don't let Comet on furniture ... except for the playroom/schoolroom couch. There he enjoys relaxing and being read to by one of the girls. SPOILED POOCH!
