Sometimes when I have a lot on my mind, I get this way ... not really knowing how to say what I feel. It is like having too many choices and not knowing what to pick. Right now my mind just has too many thoughts and I can't process them all. SIGH!!!!!!
So here are some random thoughts ...
*It is weird living two lives of school ... Catholic and homeschooling. Sometimes I wish they were all home, sometimes I wish they were all at school, but sometimes I think that it is probably good that I am only taking on the homeschooling role with just 2 girls (3, if you count little {c}).
*Tonight {m} is going to her first sleepover and I am worried for her. She is 7, but still has bedwetting issues. She really wants to go, and I feel a little weak right now. Since she homeschools now, she doesn't see her friends as much. I wanted to make her happy, so I said yes. I just hope that she doesn't get embarrassed if something happens. She told me a few minutes ago that she is a little nervous because she has never been away at night without family. I told her that she doesn't have to do the sleepover part, but she says she wants to. I then said that if she finds she can't sleep , she can call us, and Dad will pick her up. Her response ... "that is not going to happen!" I pray.
*My poor Mom's car broke down and she is trying to deal with getting her car towed. Thankfully she knows someone who was there for her to help out. It must be so hard not having my Dad around to help her in these sort of situations. I can't imagine not having my husband to come to my rescue. I know that God is teaching her some life skills, but still ...
{m} and I were talking about Guardian Angels yesterday and she said that Poppie (my Dad) is hers. She then proceeded to tell me how Poppie sits on her rocking chair at night and reads. I asked her what he looked like (old, young, sick, etc.) and she said he looks like her other Poppie who is not sick. I then asked her if she said or did anything while Poppie rocked on the chair. She said she did nothing ... just covered her head with her sheet because she wasn't sure if he was really there or if she was dreaming. {m} reminds me of myself. I was just 4.5 when my Poppie died, and I would often tell my Mom about these great conversations that I would have with my dead Poppie (on my play phone). Hmmmmmm ....
*I am not sure I love all the things we are doing with homeschooling right now. Some of it is just really too "workbook/textbook" ... very much like what my girls were doing in school before. I want learning to come more ALIVE. We will find it ... babysteps.
*AND the icing on the cake ... Poor little {c} has been sick this week with a nasty cold, cough, the dreaded "d", and fevers that match our outdoor temps of 101-103. I may just have to drag the bunch to the pediatrician for a quick check. I am just not sure it is viral??????
