My life in a MEME ...

I have been tagged by a Dad who lives in a running shoe and has so many children ...

  1. The rules of the game get posted on the beginning.
  2. Each player answers the questions about himself.
  3. At the end of the post, the player tags five people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they’ve been tagged and asking them to read their blog.
What I was doing ten years ago: I was a stay at home mom to just 2 little girls who were about 2.5 and 6 months old. I lived in CA and did things like Mommy and Me class, Moms Group, lots of neighborhood walks, visited a lot of playgrounds, and occasionally I got in a rare nap. Life was simple and I didn't even know it!

Five things on my To-Do list today: (Well the day is over, but I can give you tomorrow's plan)

  1. Morning drop off at Catholic school
  2. Field trip with homeschooling group to a recycling center.
  3. Bake brownies for my daugher's sleepover later that night.
  4. Pick up house, get 2 girls from Catholic school.
  5. PARTY TIME! Eat pizza, brownie sundaes, and off to see Nim's Island with a bunch of 8 year olds.
Things I would do if I were a billionaire:

  1. Hire a cleaning lady ... this house is a lot to keep up with.
  2. Help provide a better life for my Mom who is alone since my Dad's death.
  3. Put a bunch of money aside for higher education (for the girls).
  4. Buy a house near the ocean and pay for family to come visit me.
  5. INVEST and make more so that my family and I could live comfortably and give to charities that mean a lot to us
Three of my bad habits/qualities:

  1. Not seeing the possibilities in something.
  2. Needing to have everything the way I want it (I am definitely the "Sally" in my relationship with the husband and family).
  3. Letting emotional situations really take over my life.

Five places I’ve lived: (well, I will add one)

  1. Brooklyn, NY
  2. Binghampton, NY (college)
  3. St. Louis, MO (college and first year out)
  4. Simi Valley, CA
  5. South Brunswick, NJ
  6. Arkansas

Five Jobs that I have had:

  1. Lifeguard
  2. Telemarketer (most awful job)
  3. Sales Associate in retail
  4. RN nurse in a Children's hospital and Lifecare Center
  5. Domestic Engineer/Mom ... the most important job EVER!

Five books I’ve recently read:

  1. The Shack by William P. Young
  2. The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls
  3. Life of Christ by Fulton Sheen (only half read)
  4. Ben Franklin with my 8 year old (this might not count ... History Maker Bio Series)
  5. Smart Women Finish Rich by David Bach

Five people or communities I’m going to tag:
  1. Minivan Mom
  2. Three Guys and a Girl
  3. Out on a Limb
  4. Days of Joy (sorry, I still need to do your meme)
  5. Counting my Blessings

Telemarketer is my nightmare scenario job. I HATE the phone. Just ask my wife. It can be sitting right next to me and I won't anwser it. It drives her crazy. i only just got a cell phone this year and that was cause I had to for work.
And I also hate selling to people.

How long did you suffer through that job? You get days out of purgatgory for that one.

I only did that job for a 4 months in my senior year of highschool. I think I went to work for a few hours a night maybe 2-3 days a week. IT WAS A TERRIBLE JOB. I remember people not wanting to talk with me and being quite hurt. Managament would also spy on some of the calls to make sure I was doing my job "correctly".

I am not a phone person and we are on the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY/List.

Feeling every bit of 46 ... ugh!

When I was 45, I was feeling fabulous.   I was fit, energetic, and I thought I could easily pass for 40;) Age was just a number and I certainly didn't think I felt or looked my true age. Then February 11th came and I turned 46.   I have sciatica on my left side, my left knee is stiff, and I have plantar fasciitis in my right foot.   I've resorted to stretching all the time and popping the occasional anti-inflammatory.   There are dark circles under my eyes that I've had to start putting concealer on.   My hair is growing out from last years 45 year old short hair, but it's just in an awkward stage.  I can't decide if I want to cut it again or let it grow out.   I even thought of styling my hair differently by doing a different hair part.   That was a terrible idea because I was SHOCKED to see how much gray is now growing in the center of my scalp.  I also think my metabolism is slowing down because my mid section seems a little thicker ... ...

"The Loveliness of The Seashore"

What is the "Seashore" like? "Where the sky meets the sea ... The seashore is a place where the sea and the sky are the same smoky gray until ... the morning sun breaks through. The hot noonday sun feels warm as a big soft cat covering you. And it seems there is nothing in the world except the sound of the wind and the rising and falling of waves." Over at Dawn 's there are so many wonderful books suggested on her blog. Earlier this month I couldn't help but to peek at some of them ... thanks Dawn! *The above quote came from The Seashore Book . The ocean moves in and then moves out. This place where water, sky and earth meet is never the same. The tide comes in, the tide goes out, each wave that returns pushes against the incoming swell as it is pulled back into the endless depths and swallowed into the vastness of an unknown deep. Such is each day of our "daily" lives. I grew up enjoying the sights, sound, and the surf of the NY/Jersey "shor...

A scattered post ...

I throw myself into stuff all the time.  It can be anything from the start of a swim season, a new school year, the election, a vacation, an exercise routine etc.  I'm kind of in a phase where I really don't know what my focus should be.  I turned on the television and honestly, I have no idea what is on this fall season ... NO IDEA AT ALL .  If I watched television in the past few months, it was something kid related or Fox News. I NEED A NEW FOCUS. My current thoughts  ... reading a fictional, just for fun book stepping up my exercise routine thinking about our Christmas wish lists and shopping baking more ... I really am slacking in this area ways to save money so that we can get a new (second) washer and dryer for the upstairs (not a fancy kind because this would mostly be used by my oldest two children)... I actually have hookups. I wonder if a lot of people go through a sort of "lull" period this time of the year.  Surely it doesn't last long with the start ...
