The CREEPY DOLL

Well this is not a doll, but my real life 3rd daughter in the year 2000.  She is rather sweet and almost looks like a doll.


BUT, this is the doll.  A few years back my mom gave her to {m}.  She said that Poppie (my dad) thought this looked so much like her as a baby and he really wanted {m} to have it.  I really am not "into" life-like looking dolls, but my dad was on his death bed and how could I say no to taking this doll home with us.
She may almost look like a real baby, but honestly my big babies WERE NEVER THIS BIG ... EVER! This doll is huge and she is heavy ... made of porcelain.  Even her dress is quite gaudy. I would have changed it out with baby clothes, but I couldn't  because ... THIS DOLL IS FAT.  She really is way off the charts.
AND ... this doll is missing a finger that my mom put into a small ring box for me to take home.  She said ... "just glue the finger back on".  I never did.  For some reason this ring box finger sits in my jewelry drawer.  A few times I opened it looking for something else, only to be completely creeped out.
Until a week ago, this doll sat upon the high bookshelf in {m}'s room, but after a nightmare involving this baby doll where there was blood dripping from the mouth and a long night in my room, we moved her.  She now sits really high on the shelf of my closet.
Now seeing her up there so high next to my huge nursing books, a humidifier, and a stereo speaker ... SHE IS HUGE.  Have I said that word enough?

THAT BABY DOLL IS HUGE!!!!!!!!

Okay, yes I know that the story behind receiving said doll is very sentimental, I'd have to agree, she is a bit creepy - I'm sorry that finger thing, funny and creepy.

And more than anything, I cannot get over the size of that baby's thighs....

Good luck with whatever you decide to do with her.

That doll IS creepy. And the finger in the box? SCARY!

We have a doll kind of like that around here and she has a wind-up thing in her back that plays a creepy little tune. My daughter loves her, but when she is at school I put her on a shelf behind some other dolls because she creeps me out.

Feeling every bit of 46 ... ugh!

When I was 45, I was feeling fabulous.   I was fit, energetic, and I thought I could easily pass for 40;) Age was just a number and I certainly didn't think I felt or looked my true age. Then February 11th came and I turned 46.   I have sciatica on my left side, my left knee is stiff, and I have plantar fasciitis in my right foot.   I've resorted to stretching all the time and popping the occasional anti-inflammatory.   There are dark circles under my eyes that I've had to start putting concealer on.   My hair is growing out from last years 45 year old short hair, but it's just in an awkward stage.  I can't decide if I want to cut it again or let it grow out.   I even thought of styling my hair differently by doing a different hair part.   That was a terrible idea because I was SHOCKED to see how much gray is now growing in the center of my scalp.  I also think my metabolism is slowing down because my mid section seems a little thicker ... ...

A scattered post ...

I throw myself into stuff all the time.  It can be anything from the start of a swim season, a new school year, the election, a vacation, an exercise routine etc.  I'm kind of in a phase where I really don't know what my focus should be.  I turned on the television and honestly, I have no idea what is on this fall season ... NO IDEA AT ALL .  If I watched television in the past few months, it was something kid related or Fox News. I NEED A NEW FOCUS. My current thoughts  ... reading a fictional, just for fun book stepping up my exercise routine thinking about our Christmas wish lists and shopping baking more ... I really am slacking in this area ways to save money so that we can get a new (second) washer and dryer for the upstairs (not a fancy kind because this would mostly be used by my oldest two children)... I actually have hookups. I wonder if a lot of people go through a sort of "lull" period this time of the year.  Surely it doesn't last long with the start ...
