Random thing that I am thankful for ...


I was listening to The Catholic Guy on my radio this afternoon and nearly made a call when he did his little segment on what random thing are you thankful for. It was a little over a month ago that I made my very first call into Gus Lloyd's radio show, but I wasn't sure I could be witty enough for LINO.

Today was hot and keeping hydrated is so, SO important when you live in the humid South. Today we got to 97 and it was just so sticky. Yesterday I picked myself up a new water bottle. This water bottle is THE BEST ...
  • It fits neatly in my car's cup holder
  • It doesn't have a plastic or weird taste
  • There is no valve that I have to pull up (I don't like that)
  • I pop a little button and the cap opens and stays that way for me to POUR the water into my mouth.
  • It keeps my water ICE COLD ... yes, it actually does what it says. I kept it in my car that I KNOW went over the 100 degree mark. It also sat in the steamy SUN at the pool.

I am notorious for buying those big multi--packs of water and grabbing one for the car. The problem during this time of the year is that a cold water bottle can turn HOT in a matter of an hour. I can drink room temp water, but HOT water ... ick!

So for my $21.99 purchase at TARGET I will hopefully ...
  • not waste my $$$$ on water bottles that get thrown out
  • do a good thing for the environment by not creating WASTE
  • get to drink COLD water ... the thirst quenching kind ;)
TODAY on this very HOT (almost) SUMMER DAY, I am thankful to GOD for the people at the THERMOS company who created this oh so wonderful water (hydration) bottle (thermos). I got to drink COLD WATER and feel moments of happiness even when feeling icky and sweaty.

I think I may just get the hubby one for FATHER's DAY ;)

What a cute little thermos! You are so lucky that the weather has been warm there. It has been raining for 2 weeks straight here. I have enjoyed seeing your dog's pictures on FB - he is so cute!

Ooooo, thanks for the recommendation. One big summer bummer for me is the glass of ice water I bring in the car everytime I leave the house doesn't stay cold for very long. I'll have to look for that one!

Yes, we have many things to be thankful for...big and small!

We are finally going to get some 80 degree weather as the high next week. All I can say is lake lake lake!!!

Feeling every bit of 46 ... ugh!

When I was 45, I was feeling fabulous.   I was fit, energetic, and I thought I could easily pass for 40;) Age was just a number and I certainly didn't think I felt or looked my true age. Then February 11th came and I turned 46.   I have sciatica on my left side, my left knee is stiff, and I have plantar fasciitis in my right foot.   I've resorted to stretching all the time and popping the occasional anti-inflammatory.   There are dark circles under my eyes that I've had to start putting concealer on.   My hair is growing out from last years 45 year old short hair, but it's just in an awkward stage.  I can't decide if I want to cut it again or let it grow out.   I even thought of styling my hair differently by doing a different hair part.   That was a terrible idea because I was SHOCKED to see how much gray is now growing in the center of my scalp.  I also think my metabolism is slowing down because my mid section seems a little thicker ... ...

A scattered post ...

I throw myself into stuff all the time.  It can be anything from the start of a swim season, a new school year, the election, a vacation, an exercise routine etc.  I'm kind of in a phase where I really don't know what my focus should be.  I turned on the television and honestly, I have no idea what is on this fall season ... NO IDEA AT ALL .  If I watched television in the past few months, it was something kid related or Fox News. I NEED A NEW FOCUS. My current thoughts  ... reading a fictional, just for fun book stepping up my exercise routine thinking about our Christmas wish lists and shopping baking more ... I really am slacking in this area ways to save money so that we can get a new (second) washer and dryer for the upstairs (not a fancy kind because this would mostly be used by my oldest two children)... I actually have hookups. I wonder if a lot of people go through a sort of "lull" period this time of the year.  Surely it doesn't last long with the start ...
