THIS MOMMY ... not quite as ready ... at least emotionally.
I cannot believe that my oldest will be a 10th grader. She is taking some challenging classes this year ... human geography, AP physics, AP chemisty, honors english, pre-calculus, and french 3. This girl is a smarty pants and I am so proud of her. What happened to that little girl with the pig tails?
Something new this year is that I will have 3 little girls in the same public school. I'm hoping to make myself a little more visible in the volunteer department this year. While the school is new (only the 3rd year open), it still has some things about it that I am not so pleased about. I feel I need to keep an eye on things better this year ... especially with my precious 5 year old starting there.
YIKES! My 5 year old is going off to big girl school. She will be gone 7.5 hours/5x a week. I'm not really sure this makes me excited. Somehow it just seems too much for me to process which is why I plan on visiting the classroom more this year ;)
That leaves this mommy with the 12.5 year old homeschooler who will be in the 7th grade. This is our 3rd year of home learning and I am hopeful that this will be the best year yet. For the first time it will just be the two of us ... no little girl to add to the mix and cause distractions. This could be a good thing or NOT. I'm thinking that my 12.5 year old will likely be missing that 5 year old sister as much as myself (sniff, sniff).
The official start to all this school stuff will be August 17th for the oldest and August 19th for the rest of the bunch. As much as I have enjoyed the sleeping-in mornings and the ease of summer without a lot of work, I am ready for a little more routine and schedule.
At least I
*think*
I
am
ready ...

Best of luck this year with your sweetie at home. It will probably be a year you both will remember!
Hope you all have a wonderful year!
