- The world is awake ... there are cars on the road and people outside walking/running
- Even at 6am, there is still some HEAT out there ... 80 degrees with 87% humidity (still sweaty)
- Senior citizen males (walking about) predominantly wear khaki shorts and white T's (this is no joke)
- If you run circles in a neighborhood you will start to wave hi to the same people (feeling a little silly after the fact)
- Crossing the highway to run to the other side brings a different crowd of runners (a little younger and a little faster on their feet)
- Squirting a water bottle too hard may result in water going up the nose instead of down the throat ... oops
- There are a lot of opportunities to run through the automatic sprinklers at this hour ... hope no one saw me
- I still sweat and still have to peel soaking wet clothes off at when I get home ... ick
- I didn't see any raccoons like I had just yesterday ... 3 BIG ones who looked me straight in the eye
- Getting home at 7:25am after 5.63 miles felt good ... productive!
When I was 45, I was feeling fabulous. I was fit, energetic, and I thought I could easily pass for 40;) Age was just a number and I certainly didn't think I felt or looked my true age. Then February 11th came and I turned 46. I have sciatica on my left side, my left knee is stiff, and I have plantar fasciitis in my right foot. I've resorted to stretching all the time and popping the occasional anti-inflammatory. There are dark circles under my eyes that I've had to start putting concealer on. My hair is growing out from last years 45 year old short hair, but it's just in an awkward stage. I can't decide if I want to cut it again or let it grow out. I even thought of styling my hair differently by doing a different hair part. That was a terrible idea because I was SHOCKED to see how much gray is now growing in the center of my scalp. I also think my metabolism is slowing down because my mid section seems a little thicker ... ...

My son and I waited for the RATCOONS (I hate them)to come crawling out of the gutters last night. They have strewn trash all over my back yard several times and have figured out every trick I've come up with to keep them out of the garbage cans.
Anyway....we rocked them pretty good. Hope they got the message.
We take what we can get, don't we?
I returned home at 8:40 this morning after a sweaty 11 miles...
