Today I am having an "off" sort of day. The smile is missing, the head is aching (I'm slowly bouncing back from a terrible migraine), and there is some anxiety about the future.
I know that I can "fix" the physical things above ... my blog, my hair, and the headache, BUT I know there are changes in my family's future that I will not have control over. Right now there are unknowns and I HATE not knowing. This mom of five likes to be in control. She likes to know what will be happening next. If it's not on the calendar, then it will drive me bonkers.
I need to let go.
I need to trust.
It will be ok ...
O my God, I thank you and I praise
you for accomplishing your holy
and all-lovable will without any regard for mine.
With my whole heart,
in spite of my heart,
do I receive this cross I feared so much!
It is the cross of Your choice,
the cross of Your love.
I venerate it;
nor for anything in the world
would I wish that it had not come,
since You willed it.
I keep it with gratitude and with joy,
as I do everything that comes from Your hand;
and I shall strive to carry it without letting it drag,
with all the respect
and all the affection which Your works deserve.
Amen.
