Just another one of "those" meme's ... ABOUT ME

I've been tagged by Shelly ... I may have done this before, but I will try to think without searching too hard.

Rules: Each tagged person must post 8 random facts or habits about themselves on their blog. At the end of the post, choose 8 people to be tagged and list their names. Don't forget to leave a comment telling them that they are tagged and to read your blog. Have fun!

1. I am rather vain about my appearance ... If you saw what I looked like at this very moment you might find that VERY hard to imagine. I exercise (sometimes sporadically, but lately diligently), try to buy clothes that are a little hip(not too sexy, but more classy), and I make sure that I never leave the house with undone hair. When I go out for a date or special occasion I really take particular care to look my best ... hair done up a little better, more makeup, and slightly sexier look. I aim to look good for my husband, but a small part of me wishes to be noticed by more people.

2. I love the beach and everything about it ... the warm sun, the sand between the toes, and the lovely peaceful sounds of the waves hitting the shore. Hopefully I can have a house on the beach one day. That would be almost heaven to me.

3. Family is everything to me. I especially love that I come from a big one and I can give that to my own girls. Even though I yearn for quiet sometimes, I enjoy the noise, the battles, the love ... the memories.

4. I love the smell of certain things. When I leave SAMS Club I make sure to take a big whiff as I pass by the tires. When I go to the gym I make sure to go down the stairs to the women's locker room that is completely rubberized. Colorforms and certain plastics are intoxicating too. When I go to the gas station I enjoy that smell too, but try not to breathe too hard. Oh wait! Who can forget my love of new sneakers .... ahhhhhhhhhhh! It's a sad day when they get stinky. I must have some sort of deficiency ... like pregnant women who have pica.

5. I procrastinate a lot. When you have a big family this is not the best trait. You can often find me running around like a crazy woman at the very last minute. WILL I EVER LEARN?

6. I like to be creative mostly with photography or with house projects. Right now I am feeling a bit down because my passions are not being exercised. I enjoy being good at something (being one up ) and getting recognition for it. My focus right now is my family and my faith ... I guess that is most important.

7. My best friend is my husband. I would guess that many married women might say that, but he really is. I do have some lovely women friends (many in the cyber world), but not many and no one that I could say is my "bestest" girl friend. That makes me really sad at times. I think women do need this sort of companionship, but I haven't found the one. Maybe I have been close to it, but I usually move when things get to that really comfy friend stage. I'm not giving up on this.

8. I love SNOW. Nothing is quite so magical as a heavy snowfall. I don't get to experience that where I live right now, but I am blessed to have it in my memory. The whole aura is just beautiful. Hearing nothing, but the sound of your breath and the crunch of your footsteps or shovel. I LOVE THAT!

Okay, now it is time to TAG someone. Here is my list ...

I am always amazed at how alike we seem. We just had lots of snow here and are expecting lots more this weekend so that makes me happy. But if I could choose, the beach is where I'd want to be. How is the home schooling going so far?

Feeling every bit of 46 ... ugh!

When I was 45, I was feeling fabulous.   I was fit, energetic, and I thought I could easily pass for 40;) Age was just a number and I certainly didn't think I felt or looked my true age. Then February 11th came and I turned 46.   I have sciatica on my left side, my left knee is stiff, and I have plantar fasciitis in my right foot.   I've resorted to stretching all the time and popping the occasional anti-inflammatory.   There are dark circles under my eyes that I've had to start putting concealer on.   My hair is growing out from last years 45 year old short hair, but it's just in an awkward stage.  I can't decide if I want to cut it again or let it grow out.   I even thought of styling my hair differently by doing a different hair part.   That was a terrible idea because I was SHOCKED to see how much gray is now growing in the center of my scalp.  I also think my metabolism is slowing down because my mid section seems a little thicker ... ...

"The Loveliness of The Seashore"

What is the "Seashore" like? "Where the sky meets the sea ... The seashore is a place where the sea and the sky are the same smoky gray until ... the morning sun breaks through. The hot noonday sun feels warm as a big soft cat covering you. And it seems there is nothing in the world except the sound of the wind and the rising and falling of waves." Over at Dawn 's there are so many wonderful books suggested on her blog. Earlier this month I couldn't help but to peek at some of them ... thanks Dawn! *The above quote came from The Seashore Book . The ocean moves in and then moves out. This place where water, sky and earth meet is never the same. The tide comes in, the tide goes out, each wave that returns pushes against the incoming swell as it is pulled back into the endless depths and swallowed into the vastness of an unknown deep. Such is each day of our "daily" lives. I grew up enjoying the sights, sound, and the surf of the NY/Jersey "shor...

A scattered post ...

I throw myself into stuff all the time.  It can be anything from the start of a swim season, a new school year, the election, a vacation, an exercise routine etc.  I'm kind of in a phase where I really don't know what my focus should be.  I turned on the television and honestly, I have no idea what is on this fall season ... NO IDEA AT ALL .  If I watched television in the past few months, it was something kid related or Fox News. I NEED A NEW FOCUS. My current thoughts  ... reading a fictional, just for fun book stepping up my exercise routine thinking about our Christmas wish lists and shopping baking more ... I really am slacking in this area ways to save money so that we can get a new (second) washer and dryer for the upstairs (not a fancy kind because this would mostly be used by my oldest two children)... I actually have hookups. I wonder if a lot of people go through a sort of "lull" period this time of the year.  Surely it doesn't last long with the start ...
